Adria Winch Enters Norwegian Salmon Farm Industry

May 27, 2026

Adria Winch has secured a contract to provide specialised equipment for Nordlaks’ Havfarm project, a 385-metre long floating salmon farm.

The Havfarm represents a substantial investment in Norwegian seafood production. The facility will feature six deep water cages containing 44,000 cubic metres of water and a total capacity of 10,000 tons of salmon. Construction took place at a Chinese shipyard during 2019, followed by transport to Norwegian waters.

The company’s contribution includes a custom-designed anchor-handling and mooring winch paired with a six-ton steel platform. The winch specification includes a pulling force of 35 tons and drum capacity accommodating 195 metres of steel wire with three sheave-blocks for guidance. The equipment also incorporates energy regeneration capabilities through an integrated regenerative unit within the electric cabinet.
